Professional Review

Now you can finally remember how it was like when you were a child. This time it’s not about the comfort of other people caring about you - it’s the opposite. You’ll play as a small child all alone with your teddy bear trying to find your mama and escape from monsters. You can download Among the Sleep for Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Graphics: 3.5

There are a lot of locations in this game except the house: lakes, ponds, forests, etc. Each scene is very different from another, so it makes it more interesting to play this game. Although it’s not too sophisticated and not close to reality. Some objects are edgy, and you can see through them. The effects for enemies’ appearances are great and really spooky - your vision will blur, and you’ll hear some eery music for each one of them.

Gameplay: 3

A horror survival game where you need to avoid being caught by a stranger woman singing a lullaby and by a man in a trench coat. You can’t fight them, only hide from them. You also have to avoid and go through different obstacles on your way to finding your mama. Be sure to take your teddy bear everywhere with you. He will guide you the entire way through the dark, creepy house and its surroundings which once was your warm home. You can drown and fall on the way to your mom. To get to her you’ll need to open one special door and to open it you’ll need different objects - that’s the main point of the game. The most important things are two parts of the key that fit the door. To get to those objects, you’ll need to get through different paths which you need to unlock. The bear won’t talk to you, so you need to figure out the game by yourself.

Controls: 4

The toddler can walk, crawl, climb, reach and even run a little but not too much - otherwise, he’ll fall because she’s a small child, they can’t do that very well. You can move different objects to get to other objects. Also, you can break them and hide in different spots to avoid ghosts that can kill you. You can also slide from things and don’t forget to hold your bear so it'll glow in the dark.

Replay Value: 1

This can be a several plays game. It is gloomy and dark so you might want to get back to this atmosphere again for the chills. But once you get to your mother, there’s no point to replay this game because you’ll know the path and things you need to do for this. But if you’ll get back to it try to move slower so you’ll get more of the scary experience.

The purpose of Among the Sleep review is to tell you that this game is really grim. You’re a child that constantly dies while trapped in this crazy world. It looks like a story of a child with schizophrenia. The game is too short, and you don’t get scared enough, but that’s all the money that game creators had. And you might be disappointed by the end of this game.

After you download Among the Sleep you’ll find yourself in a crazy child’s dream world and there’s nobody to help you to survive.

Pros : Interesting fresh idea;
Nice locations.

Cons : After some time it gets too slow and it’s too short as well.
